Red Hats gather in Elkins

Merry Christmas was heard over and over again at the Red Hat luncheon on Dec. 11 at the Railyard Restaurant in Elkins. The ladies dressed in their red and purple finery and celebrated together with games and prizes.

Poinsettias and many different gifts were won as games were played. A delicious meal of turkey, ham, and all the trimmings was prepared for the ladies by Valeria.

The ladies always bring gifts for Toys for Tots. This year, a special thank you was given to the group by Gary George, a representative of Toys for Tots, via video. George is former master sargent wth the Marine Corps, who has spent many years working with Toys for Tots.

The ladies were grateful and inspired to contribute even more next year.

The Jan. 8 meeting will be held at the Railyard Restaurant in Elkins. The group invites any fun-loving lady over the age of 50 to the meeting that will be hosted by Frances Crickert, Texie Mallow and Mary Lou Irwin.
