Jon Bennett, a 2023 graduate of Elkins High School, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from The Snowshoe Foundation.
He was able to apply the award to expenses at Davis & Elkins College, where he is a current freshman and is majoring in Communications.
Bennett is appreciative of the financial support this scholarship provided and he encourages all high school seniors in Randolph, Pocahontas and Webster counties to apply.
Information and applications can be found on the Snowshoe Foundation website, https://snowshoefoundation.org. The deadline is March 15 at 5 p.m. Bennett also plans to apply for the scholarship again this year.
Students can re-apply each year after submitting a final report detailing how the award was utilized.
