ELKINS -- The Finance Committee, the Water Board, and the Planning Commission meet the week of April 8.
The Finance Committee meets Monday at 1 p.m. Items on the agenda include: budget revisions; FY 2025 Landfill Budget; FY 2025 Sanitation Budget; and a Little League paving proposal.
The Water Board meets Monday at 4 p.m. Items on the agenda include: PSC Order concerning Whitmer Water System; update on City of Elkins' Water and Sewer Line Replacement; Leadsville Agreement; contractual agreements for Emergency Operational Services; and Water Board invoices.
The Planning Commission meets Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The agenda may be adjusted through Tuesday. Items on the agenda include: proposed use definition for conference and event centers and the Comprehensive Plan update.
Utility and in-city fire fees bills were mailed on March 28 and are due April 17.
The 2024 street sweeper season begins on April 8. Tickets will be issued for street-sweeper parking violations starting May 6.

The City of Elkins is urging residents to sign up for its new mass notification system, named WENS, which is aimed at strengthening emergency communication capabilities within the community. This system will enable the city to disseminate crucial information to the public quickly and efficiently during urgent and emergency situations.
