EDITOR'S NOTE: The Datebook is reserved for nonprofit, civic organizations. Unless otherwise noted, events listed should be considered free and open to the public. BLOCK PARTY: One Hope Covenant Church is hosting a block party between First and Second Street on Henry Avenue today from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. There will be free food, games, prizes, special music and more! If you have any questions please contact Sam or Hannah Urban at 304-704-6056 or 304-614-5739.

SPAGHETTI DINNER: at the Whitmer Community Church, formerly the Whitmer Methodist Church, from noon to 5 p.m. today. The menu will include spaghetti, homemade sauce, green beans, coleslaw, hot rolls and dessert.

SPAGHETTI DINNER: will be from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the St. Patrick Parish Hall in Coalton. There is a cost for adults and for children. Dine in or carry out will be available.

12-HOUR BASEMENT SALE: at First United Methodist Church, 52 S. Florida St, Buckhannon on Tuesday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Proceeds benefit mission projects of United Women in Faith. Grab bags available will be available 7-8 p.m.

PLANT THE SEED PROJECT: will host their next meeting on Tuesday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Beverly Elementary School Cafeteria. Everyone is invited to attend and are welcome to get involved in providing our youth the resources they need to grow their own food.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT PICKIN': The weekly jam sessions sponsored by Augusta Heritage will now take place in the new Augusta Building (formerly the Wilt Building) on Davis Avenue in Elkins. The jams are held in the ground floor room of the building (the entrance is located on Davis Avenue, next to CJ Maggies and Armadillo Flats). The country music jams begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the old-time music jams from 6:30-9 p.m. All acoustic instruments are welcome.
