Nurse receives DAISY Award
WESTON — Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is proud to honor Kenton Linger, RN, as the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient.
The DAISY Award is awarded to nurses biannually at the hospital and is a part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize and thank nurses for the care and kindness they provide. Nominations are sent in by patients, families, and coworkers and compiled to award selected recipients.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive the DAISY Award. Upon receiving this award, I was completely surprised. I did not feel like I did anything out of the ordinary, I just strived to provide the best possible care to my patients,” said Linger. “To be acknowledged in such a meaningful way inspires me to continue striving for excellence in caring for my patients, to always be a health and wellness advocate, and to lead with compassion. This award is a reminder of why I chose to be a nurse and motivates me to keep making a positive impact in the lives of those I serve. Thank you to the patient and family who nominated me for this extraordinary honor.”
Linger is a Registered Nurse at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital and has worked for Mon Health since September 2022 in the Acute Care Unit. Because of his acts of selflessness and commitment to go above and beyond for his patients, he was nominated and selected as a recipient for this award. Linger was awarded at the hospital with his colleagues and family in attendance.
“Kenton provides exceptional care to his patients and is respected by his peers,” said Christel Beam, RN, Director of ICU, Acute Care, and Telemetry at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “We are proud and congratulate him on receiving this honor in recognition of his dedication to excellent patient care.”
Nurses can be nominated by anyone who has been affected by their care – patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, other clinicians, and staff – anyone who has experienced or observed extraordinary, compassionate care being provided by a nurse.
