LINCOLN DAY DINNER: The Randolph County Republican Executive Committee will hold their Lincoln Day Dinner today at 5 p.m. at the Elks Club. Guest speaker will be Kris Warner. Call Carolyn Jackson for tickets at 304-636-1019. Social hour is at 4 p.m.
CRAFT SHOW: The Leading Creek Volunteer Fire Department will host a craft show today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be several vendors including woodworking, goat lotions, soaps and more.
CANDIDATE EVENT: A social gathering and fundraiser for State Senate Candidate Mandy Weirich will be held Sunday, Sept. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Iron Road Inn, 357 Beverly Pike, Elkins. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsors include Harold and Julia Elbon, Debbie Strader, Jim and Cindy Stemple, and Bill Hartman.
PICNIC: hosted by the Randolph County Farm Bureau will be Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. at the 4-H Camp Pioneer pavilion beside the pond in Beverly. Meat and drinks will be provided. Please bring a covered dish. A guest speaker will provide information about farm insurance. Everyone is welcome.
PICKIN' IN THE PARK: Beginning on Sept. 18, the Wednesday Jam Sessions will be held indoors at the Augusta Heritage Center's Music and Dance Hall located on Davis Avenue. For more information, call 304-642-2369.
VFW POST 5781: will host a meat shoot on Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be provided. The next shoot is scheduled for Oct. 19. For information, contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349.
SOURDOUGH BUCKWHEAT BREAKFAST: will be at the Randolph Lodge IOOF lodge hall on the Beverly Five-Lane on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will include regular pancakes, sourdough buckwheat cakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, coffee, milk or orange juice.
OPEN HOUSE: Tucker County AdultEd has recently moved, come by during the Open House on Sept. 27 from 2-8 p.m. and check out the new location at 307 First Street, Parsons, WV 26287. AdultEd offers a wide variety of trainings/certifications, job prep, job skills, GED and much more.
CHEROKEE ARTISAN SHOWCASE: On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area will host workshops and presentations on copper art, finger weaving, the Cherokee language and more. This free event will be held from 9:30 a.m-4:40 p.m. at the Appalachian Forest Discovery Center, Darden Mill, 101 Railroad Ave, Elkins, followed by a 6:30 p.m. evening performance at the Arts Center, 2 Park St, Elkins.
RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL: will hold their September meeting on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Steer Steakhouse. BASEMENT SALE: First United Methodist Church, 52 S. Florida St., will host 12-hour basement sale 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 1. All proceeds will benefit mission projects of United Women in Faith. There will be grab bags available 7-8 p.m.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY USED BOOK SALE AND DONATION DROP OFF: Every Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the old library, 416 Davis Ave. Donations of books, movies, puzzles, and games in good condition also may be made at this location and time. Money raised goes toward expanding and renovating the building, which was severely damaged by multiple roof leaks in late 2021.
