BROWN BAG CONCERT: The Arts Center will host a free Brown Bag Concert today from noon to 1 p.m. in the Great Hall. Jason Hall, ‘a soulful acoustic musician with a knack for incorporating his flare into Country/Americana classics,’, is set to perform. ‘With warm raspy vocals, Jason delivers an intimate, down-to-earth sound that resonates with audiences of all kinds.’ 

PLANT THE SEED PROJECT: will hold it’s next meeting today at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Beverly Elementary School.  Topics to include election of Board members, planning for this year’s gardening projects, along with free seeds giveaway.  All are welcome to attend. 

WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The weekly Wednesday jam sessions,  sponsored by Augusta, are now taking place next-door at Armadillo Flats on Davis Avenue in Elkins. Country Music Jams are from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Old-Time Jams are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. All levels are welcome, as well as singers and listeners. Look for entry signage (enter from C.J. SAVE DEMOCRACY THURSDAYS: Everyone is invited to join in every Thursday in March for a Save Democracy Rally at 4 p.m. in front of the Randolph County Courthouse. On Thursday, March 20, “Save Democracy, Stand Up for the Environment”; on Thursday, March 27, “Save Democracy, Stand Up for Our Veterans.” Just bring yourself and your sign. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FISH FRY: will be offered Fridays during Lent at St. Brendan Catholic Church Parish Hall on March 21 and 28, and April 4 and 11, from 4-7 p.m. each day. The menu will be fish, french fries, coleslaw, bread, dessert and a drink. There is a cost for adults, and a lesser cost for children ages 5 to 12. Children under 5 will be admitted free.

TYGART VALLEY MASTER NATURALISTS: The Tygart Valley Master Naturalists Chapter starts their Monthly classes on Saturday, March 22. Classes are held at the Elkins DNR at 738 Ward Road. Classes run from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. There will also be classes Saturday, April 12. For more information, email  kaylhart24@gmail.com.

FREE MONTHLY TREE TALKS: at the Kump Education Center. The lectures are sponsored by the Elkins Tres Board and KEC. Topics are: 3/26, “Returning the American Chestnut to Our Forests” by Mark Double, WV Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation; 4/23, “Stress, Strain and Trees; An Introduction to Tree Mechanics” by Ken Beezley, D&E. MEETING: The Randolph County Association of Retired School Personnel will meet Friday, March 28, at the Old Brick Playhouse in Elkins at noon There will be a covered dish luncheon, and Missy McCollam will give the program.
