The Barbour County Republican Party is excited to host weekly Live Legislative Updates during the 2025 West Virginia Legislative Session.
Moderated by Chair Lisa Weese, these sessions occur on Zoom every Sunday evening at 8 p.m. while the West Virginia Legislature is in session. Each week, a local representative will provide insights on bills under consideration and those that have been passed by the Legislature, followed by a question and answer segment.
The inaugural Live Legislative Update was held on March 2 and featured Delegate Chris Phillips, who represents Barbour County and part of Upshur County in the West Virginia House of Delegates.
Phillips serves as Chair of the House Government Organizations Committee, is a senior ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, and sits on the Homeland Security and Rules Committees.
The next Live Legislative Update will take place on Sunday, March 9 at 8 p.m.
The guest speaker will be state Senator Robbie Morris, representing Senate District 11, which includes Barbour, Randolph and several adjoining counties.
Morris is Vice-Chair of the Banking & Insurance and Economic Development Committees in the WV Senate. He also serves on the Education, Finance, Natural Resources and Transportation Committees.
The Barbour County Republican Party aims to offer residents of Barbour County and nearby areas a platform to engage with local representatives and stay informed about legislation that may affect them.
