Scholarship created in Doak’s honor

ELKINS — Davis & Elkins College has partnered with Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center to provide a scholarship for current employees and families to attend D&E.
The Mark Doak Award, named in honor of the former CEO for Davis Health System in Elkins, features a $2,500 award each year for four years, totaling $10,000.
To be considered for the Mark Doak Award, recipient(s) must be a current employee of Davis Medical Center in Elkins, or a dependent or a dependent family member of the following Vandalia Health facilities: Monongalia, Broaddus, Webster, Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC). Recipient(s) who are accepted for admission to D&E are required to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the scheduled deadline.

The scholarship, valued at $10,000 over four years, offers a meaningful opportunity for employees and their families to pursue higher education at D&E. It underscores our shared commitment to enriching the lives of our community and supporting the future of healthcare professionals.”

Candidates for the Mark Doak Award will be reviewed by a committee consisting of a representative from the Vandalia Health Human Resources Department, a representative from Davis & Elkins College’s Financial Aid Office, and a representative of D&E’s Office of Enrollment Management. The scholarship will provide a $2,500 per year award and is renewable for up to four years if the recipient(s) remain in good academic standing.
