SNOWSHOE — The Snowshoe Foundation is now accepting applications for its open 2025 Scholarship and Spring Grant Awards, providing crucial funding to support eligible students and organizations in Pocahontas, Randolph, and Webster counties.

In 2024, the Snowshoe Foundation distributed nearly $400,000 in grants and scholarships to eligible applicants.

“Our Spring Awards season is really a big and exciting time for the Snowshoe Foundation,” stated Dave Black, Snowshoe Foundation Executive Director. “There is so much good happening in our communities, and we love this opportunity to engage and give back in order to continue the positive momentum.”

West Virginia residents who live in Pocahontas, Randolph, or Webster County and are pursuing higher education or career training can apply for a Snowshoe Foundation Scholarship of up to $5,000. Eligible applicants must be a high school senior, returning undergraduate student, or enrolled in a career/technical training program. Grant funding may be requested for $250 up to $20,000 for qualifying projects. Grant applicants must have a nonprofit 501(c)(3) status or a direct affiliation with a local school. Projects should align with the Foundation’s mission to build and strengthen the community while fostering a spirit of hope and philanthropy.

“Investing in the education of future generations and improving the quality of life for our residents is at the core of our mission,” explained Black. “Virtually all of the funds we raise throughout the year go towards scholarships and grantmaking.”

Scholarship and grant applicants are required to submit the appropriate, completed application form along with supporting documents. Applications should be submitted online or mailed to the Snowshoe Foundation. The submission deadline for both scholarships and grants is March 14th, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Following the deadline, all completed applications will be reviewed, and recipients will be notified in May 2025. Information for awards and further requirements can be found on the Snowshoe Foundation website: www.snowshoefoundation.org.
