Swimming with Dolphins

H.A.S. students have fun at Aquatica.

Highland Adventist School students visited Orlando recently to learn about marine biology.

Swimming with dolphins, watching orcas and dolphins leap out of the water, feeding tropical birds, and visiting a penguin environment were just some of the learning experiences the students enjoyed at Sea World and Discovery Cove.

They learned about the characteristics and habits of many marine animals and birds. They also spent a day enjoying the water slides at Aquatica. Each evening the group reviewed facts from the day.

“Each year we plan a spring study tour for our students.  We’ve studied in North Carolina, Virginia, Boston, Colorado, and many other locations,” said Cheryl Jacko, principal.

“This year’s Orlando trip was both fun and educational and a great memory-maker for our students, even though the weather was a little cool!  We had a great time and thank our district office, the Mountain View Conference, for planning it.”
