FARMERS MARKET: The Elkins Farmers Market, located behind the Railroad Depot, is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Lots of parking is available behind the Summit Church buildings. We have a large variety of vegetables of the season, eggs, cakes, cookies, jams, breads, flowers, crafts and many more items.
OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, Dulcimer, Bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. For more information, contact dp-foot@hotmail.com.
WEDNESDAY PICKIN': The weekly Wednesday jam sessions, sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center, are taking place next-door to Augusta, at Armadillo Flats, on Davis Avenue in Elkins. Open to pickers and singers of all levels, the Country Music Jams are from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Old Time Jams follow, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Look for entry signage at Armadillo Flats, or enter from C.J. YARD SALE FUNDRAISER: Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, beside Camp Pioneer, will host an annual inside yard sale, June 6 and June 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Furniture, electronics, tools, toys and games, home goods, collectibles and more. Great prices, friendly atmosphere, plenty of parking. Breakfast, lunch and baked goods available. Sale benefits the many ministries the Ladies Missionary Group provides.
CHARITY CAKEWALKS: Below are the dates and benefitting organizations for Citizens Promoting Community's cakewalks in Elkins in 2025: June 6 – Meals on Wheels; June 20 – Citizens Promoting Community (to benefit the July 4th parade); July 18 – Elkins Babe Ruth; Aug. 1 – Elkins Area Band Auxiliary; and Aug. 15 – Tyrand Ministries.
YARD SALE: will be at Orlena Global Methodist Church at Gilman on Friday, June 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunches will be available for purchase.
HOT DOG SALE: The Whitmer Community Church will host a hot dog sale from noon to 5 p.m. on June 7. Proceeds will benefit the church youth group.
PIE AUCTION: The Kump Education Center invites the community to join the fun at its annual Pie Auction Saturday, June 7. Pies will be auctioned beginning at 1 p.m. A big selection of pies baked by current and former educators and friends of the Kump Education Center will be up for grabs. There will be all sorts of delicious sweet pies and savory pies. Jacob Hornick of Hornick Auction Service will run an auction. There will also be a heritage quilt exhibit. Proceeds from the auction benefit the KEC's programs.
PURPLE MAJESTIES: The Elkins Purple Majesties (Red Hats) will meet Monday, June 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Knot Just Another Barn off the Kingsville Road. The theme for the luncheon is "English Tea." For additional information or reservations, call Carole Helmick at 304-614-0359.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: The Whitmer Community Church will host the 'Keepers of the Kingdom' vacation bible school from 6-8:15 p.m. June 16-20.
