BUCKHANNON — All meetings, unless specified otherwise, are open to the public and will take place in the Council Chambers at Buckhannon City Hall, located at 70 E Main St, Buckhannon, WV 26201.

Friday, Aug. 1:
• Festival Fridays in Jawbone Park: Celebrate summer with Create Buckhannon! Enjoy live music from Sapps Hollow Band (Old Country/Gospel), Create Buckhannon Chicken Dinner Sales, local food vendors, fresh produce, and artisans. National Night Out 2025: Join in on Aug. 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Upshur County Pool (Buckhannon-Upshur High School). This event fosters community connections with emergency responders in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Enjoy family activities and valuable resources!
Yard Waste Collection Updates: Yard waste will be collected from Buckhannon residents on Aug. 8, and Aug. 22. Starting Sept. 1, collections will occur every Friday through Nov. 30. Residents must contact City Hall to be added to the collection list. You can also drop off bagged yard waste at the Transfer Station for free (up to two truckloads per year).
Reminders — To help keep our town and streets attractive, please:
• Lawn care needs to be performed weekly
• Keep grass clippings out of the street as they can block stormwater drains and cause flooding. When mowing, always blow the grass away from the street.
• Trash cans should be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week; place them at the curb the night before collection, and return them within 24 hours after collection.
Utility Bill Payments: Pay utility bills online at Municipal Online Payments or by phone at 1-866-933-4026. Setting up an account allows you to monitor your consumption.
Report Repairs or Concerns: To report issues such as potholes or damaged signs, please call City Hall during business hours to submit a work order.
