Purple Majesties Gather for Luncheon

Submitted photo Knot Just Another Barn was the venue for the Elkins Purple Majesties July luncheon. The Barn was decorated to celebrate an old-fashioned Independence Day. The tables were decorated with blue tablecloths and hand-painted ‘firecrackers.’ Many games played at July 4th celebrations were placed throughout the barn to be played by the ladies. The ladies were given red and blue star sunglasses and bubbles. They also took home the hand-painted ‘firecrackers.’ Food for this fun-filled afternoon was the typical picnic menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, home made potato salad, assorted chips and condiments. The choice of dessert was ice cream with strawberry sauce served by the newly crowned king of the Purple Majesties, Jim Ross. The afternoon was a perfect celebration thanks to Kim Ross and her elite helpers. The next luncheon will be at The Steer in Elkins on Aug. 11.
