ELKINS -- Davis & Elkins College faculty and staff are excited to welcome new and returning students to campus to continue their educational journeys.

Kicking off the semester, the College hosted an array of activities designed to make both new and returning students feel at home. The weekend's activities marked the beginning of D&E's "Adventure Awaits: Your Journey Starts Here" orientation theme.

D&E welcomes a diverse and vibrant incoming class equally representative of the "Mountain State" and the greater global population, further solidifying the College's commitment to fostering a rich and inclusive campus community. This incoming class kicked off the weekend's activities at New & First Year Student Check-In before attending Matriculation Convocation at Myles Center for the Arts, Harper-McNeeley Auditorium.

"Matriculation Convocation marks the first chapter of the Davis & Elkins College story - a moment where tradition meets possibility," said Dean of Students Kate Garlick. "As our newest Senators cross the stage, they join a community that will challenge, inspire, and celebrate them on the journey ahead."

D&E's student body is a testament to its strong community and academic environment, representing a significant portion of the state, country, and globe, of which the College's impressively large return student population plays a vital role.

"Once again we are eagerly anticipating the start of our academic year," said Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Mike Mattison. "To welcome in new students, and to welcome returning students back, is always a rewarding experience. The faculty are more than ready to jump into the classroom and start exploring, experimenting, and engaging with their students this semester."
