HAS teacher receives honor

Stacy Blanzy, an educator at Highland Adventist School, has received the prestigious 2024-2025 Elementary Educator of the Year award from the Columbia Union Office of Education.
The office supervises a total of 450 educators and 79 schools over a seven-state region.
The award is given for excellence and creativity in teaching, positive mentoring and relationship-building with students, and an unwavering commitment to Christian education and involves an extensive vetting process.
Blanzy is a graduate of Highland Adventist School. She received her B.A. in education from Southern Adventist University in Tennessee and holds certifications in elementary education, English and history, as well as junior high Bible, science, health and P.E.
After graduation, she joined the faculty of Highland Adventist School, where she has taught for more than 10 years.
“I am very honored and excited to receive this award for Outstanding Educator of the Year,” Blanzy said. “My students are what make my job worth it. I love them — we are like a big family.
“I’m very grateful for them and for the opportunity of serving the students of Randolph County!”
