The City of Elkins is currently partnering with the Mountain State Forest Festival’s organizers and additional community groups on ensuring that this year’s event, starting today and ending on Oct. 5, is a success. Maps tentatively showing areas of towns affected by events, street closures, and staging areas are posted online here: https://cityofelkinswv.com/msff-maps/.
Friday garbage service for Oct. 3 is rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 2. The Sanitation Department will be helping to clean up the City for the parades on Friday and Saturday nights as the Forest Festival wraps up; plus because of the expected traffic, that week’s Friday garbage service is moved up a day. Please have your garbage out by 6 a.m. on that Thursday, Oct. 2.
