EDITOR’S NOTE: The Inter-Mountain’s Community Calendar is reserved for nonprofit, civic organizations. Unless otherwise noted, events listed should be considered free and open to the public. Entries appear in chronological order and as space allows.

FARMERS MARKET: The Elkins Farmers Market, located behind the Railroad Depot, is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Lots of parking is available behind the Summit Church buildings. We have a large variety of vegetables of the season, eggs, cakes, cookies, jams, breads, flowers, crafts and more.

OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, Dulcimer, Bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. For more information, contact dp-foot@hotmail.com.

WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The weekly Wednesday evening traditional music jam sessions sponsored by Augusta Heritage Center, which formerly took place at Elkins City Park or at the Community Arts Center, will soon take place at Armadillo Flats on Davis Avenue, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 8. The acoustic music jam sessions will be every Wednesday of the fall and winter. The country music jams are from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the old-time music jams from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All levels are welcome, as well as singers and listeners. The weekly jam sessions are co-sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center. Anyone is welcome to listen or participate (no sound systems or amplifiers). Officials would like to thank Armadillo Flats and C.J. Maggie’s Restaurant for their generosity in allowing these jam sessions to continue taking place indoors during the cold months ahead. FESTIVAL: The Gathering: Fall Festival will be Saturday, Oct. 11 from 5-9 p.m. at Tygart Valley Ministries on Main Street in Beverly. A night of food, family, and fall fun for the whole community will be offered.

PURPLE MAJESTIES: The Elkins Purple Majesties (Red Hats) will meet Monday, Oct. 13, at 11:30 a.m. at Knot Just Another Barn off Kingsville Road. The theme will be fall/halloween. ‘YOU SHOULD RUN’ CANDIDATE INTEREST EVENT: will be Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 5 p..m. at the Russell Memorial Public Library in Mill Creek. At this informal gathering, learn about running for office in the 2026 midterm elections, register to vote, and meet your local Democratic leaders. Experts will be available to answer questions and offer help. Light refreshments will be served. A brief Executive Committee meeting will follow the event. Free and open to the public. “You Should Run” is sponsored by the Randolph County Dems. For more information call 304-641-0751.

BUCKWHEAT FEED: Asbury United Methodist Church in Belington will be having a buckwheat feed on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to noon. Pancakes will also be available. The price for adults is $10 and the price for children 12 and under is $5.
