EDITOR’S NOTE: The Inter-Mountain’s Community Calendar is reserved for nonprofit, civic organizations. Unless otherwise noted, events listed should be considered free and open to the public. Entries appear in chronological order and as space allows.
CLASSES: On seven Wednesday evenings between today and Nov. 19, Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church’s Lay Academy will present a series of classes on the basic issues of theology: what do we know about God and how do we know it? All are welcome to share this opportunity to ask the big questions about faith and to enjoy discussion and fellowship. Light meal at 6 p.m. and class from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
FESTIVAL: The Gathering: Fall Festival will be Saturday, Oct. 11 from 5-9 p.m. at Tygart Valley Ministries on Main Street in Beverly. A night of food, family, and fall fun for the whole community will be offered.
BUCKWHEAT BREAKFAST: On Saturday, Oct. 11, there will be buckwheat breakfast at the Homestead Community Center from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Breakfasts can be bought for $10.
FARMERS MARKET: The Elkins Farmers Market, located behind the Railroad Depot, is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Lots of parking is available behind the Summit Church buildings. Offering a large variety of vegetables of the season, eggs, cakes, cookies, jams, breads, flowers, crafts and more.
PURPLE MAJESTIES: The Elkins Purple Majesties (Red Hats) will meet Monday, Oct. 13, at 11:30 a.m. at Knot Just Another Barn off Kingsville Road. The theme will be fall/halloween. Ladies wear your witches hat and/or halloween costume. For additional information or reservations, call Carole Helmick at 304-614-0359.
‘YOU SHOULD RUN’ CANDIDATE INTEREST EVENT: will be Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 5 p..m. at the Russell Memorial Public Library in Mill Creek. At this informal gathering, learn about running for office in the 2026 midterm elections, register to vote, and meet your local Democratic leaders. Experts will be available to answer questions and offer help. Light refreshments will be served. A brief Executive Committee meeting will follow the event. Free and open to the public.
