REVIVAL AND THANKSGIVING DINNER: The Crystal Springs Community Church at 602 Harris Street will be having a revival with Aaron Green from today through Sunday, Nov. 16. The revival will start at 6 p.m. on all days. Along with the revival on Nov. 16, the church will be having a Thanksgiving dinner with turkey.

BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the lodge hall along the Beverly Five-lane on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, milk, coffee and orange juice.

COME AS YOU ARE MEAL: One Hope Covenant Church of Elkins will be holding their 8th annual Come As You Are Meal on Sunday, Nov. 16. This is a free Thanksgiving style meal offered to all beginning at 1 p.m. and going until food runs out. The dinner will be held at the Phil Gainer Community Center, 142 Robert E Lee Ave. Elkins, WV 26241. COOKIES AND CONVERSATION: Join in on Wednesday, Nov. 19 for a community discussion about the issues of importance to you and your family and how we can work together to make our communities better for everyone. This event will be at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall in Coalton beginning at 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome. THANKSGIVING BASKETS: The local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Association is currently distributing applications for Thanksgiving Baskets in Randolph County. Applications can be picked up at Peter Pan Cleaners and Miller’s Modification Station, and must be submitted by Nov. 20.

WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The Augusta Heritage Center’s weekly acoustic music jam sessions are now taking place at Armadillo Flats at C.J. Maggie’s Restaurant on Davis Avenue in Elkins throughout the fall and winter months. The country music jam sessions will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., while the old-time music jam sessions will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All levels and instruments are welcome as well as singers and listeners. BUCKWHEAT FEED: will be offered at the Harman School Saturday, Nov. 22 from 7 a.m. to noon. It will be an all-you-can-eat event, with a menu including buckwheat cakes, pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy, eggs, and juice, milk and coffee. There will be separate fees for adults and children 6-12 to eat, and children 5 and under may eat free. A bake sale will also be part of the event. All proceeds will benefit the Dry Fork Recreation Center. Inc.

BAKED PORK STEAK DINNER: The Pickens American Legion Post 122 will host a baked pork steak dinner 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 22 at the American Legion Hall. The menu will include baked pork steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, hot rolls, applesauce, dessert and drinks.

JOY CIRCLE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: at the Otterbein Methodist Church. 1100 South Davis Ave., Elkins, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22. The bazaar features backed goods, candies, cookie walk, craft items, white elephant sale and a take out hot dog sale. Proceeds benefit missions.

CHRISTMAS BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting applications for Christmas dinner baskets, for Randolph County residents only, on the following dates/times: Monday, Dec. 1-Friday, Dec. 5, between the hours of 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Proof of your physical residency, ID, and all forms of income you receive is required. Applications must be filled out in the office and cannot leave the building. Applications do NOT guarantee you will be chosen to receive a dinner. Baskets will be given out Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. – Noon. Letters to recipients will be mailed out beginning Dec. 8. When and if you receive a letter, YOU MUST bring your LETTER, ENVELOPE and ID with you on pick-up day. Donations of canned goods, other non-perishable food items, and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Post and are greatly appreciated. For more information, call 304-636-3930.

CHRISTMAS DINNER/DANCE: Knights of Columbus Council 603 will hold its annual Christmas Dinner-Dance at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at Orchard Hall. The meal will include hot Italian sausage in pepper sauce, rigatoni with sauce, ham, Italian bread, tossed salad with Italian dressing, cake, beer, wine and soda. A total of $2,500 in cash prizes will be given away, including five $100 prizes, two $500 prizes and one $1,000 prize. Music will be provided by Dan Dilettoso. No one under age 21 will be admitted. OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, Dulcimer, Bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. Contact dp-foot@hotmail.com.

CRAFT SALE: Orlena Global Methodist Church will host a craft sale 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7. There will be baked goods for sale and lunch can be purchased. The menu will feature soups, sandwiches, hot dogs and drinks.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA: Ceremony will be at American Legion Little Arlington Cemetery in Elkins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Remember and honor our veterans through the laying of remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each veteran aloud. To purchase a wreath to be placed at the cemetery, please call Post 29 at 304-636-3930.

TOPS 0590 MILL CREEK: meets at the Russell Memorial Library in Mill Creek every Wednesday. Weigh-in is from 10:30-10:45 a.m. Meeting following weigh in. For information call 304-338-6403.
