ELKINS — Citizens Bank of West Virginia (“Citizens”) announced the acquisition of trust and estate administration assets of another financial institution, further strengthening its position as a leading provider of wealth management services in the region. In addition, Citizens has expanded its team to five professionals and manages over $200 million in client assets. Citizens is now the only community bank in Randolph County offering a full suite of Trust, Estate Settlement, and Investment Advisory services.
“In an effort to ensure Citizens has the products and services our clients need for their financial well-being, we’ve expanded our team of experienced professionals,” said Nathaniel S. Building a strong trust and wealth management team demonstrates our commitment to individuals, nonprofits, and businesses across our region.”
The Wealth Management Division provides a comprehensive range of services, including trust and estate administration, investment management, 401(k) and retirement plan services, and investment advisory solutions. Business and corporate clients also benefit from customized employer-sponsored retirement plan options and tailored investment strategies to help maximize returns on idle cash.
Citizens recently hired Janice Bonner as Vice President & Trust Officer, bringing over 25 years of trust services experience with a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation. Previously serving as a trust department leader at another community bank, Bonner is known for her dedication to exceptional client service and deep expertise in trust administration and estate settlement.
“I’m excited to join Citizens Bank and to continue serving clients in our region with personalized, community-focused trust and estate services,” said Bonner. “Citizens’ strong reputation, commitment to its clients, and focus on long-term financial guidance align perfectly with my values and experience.”
Bonner joins an experienced and well-qualified professional team that includes Leesa Harris, CTFA, Senior Vice President & Trust Officer, who has led the Trust Department for more than 25 years; Rebecca Schoonover, Vice President & Financial Advisor, a licensed Investment Advisor with more than 20 years of experience; Trevor Kiess, Esq., Vice President, Trust Officer & General Counsel, who joined Citizens earlier in 2025 and provides legal and fiduciary expertise to clients; and Crystal Kimbleton, Assistant Trust Officer, with over 22 years of experience providing essential client support to ensure each client receives the highest level of personal service.
“Our growing trust and wealth management group reflects Citizens’ long-standing mission to meet our clients where they are–at any stage of life–and to help them secure their financial futures, whether it’s individuals, nonprofits, or businesses,” commented Leesa Harris.
“We are thrilled to welcome Janice Bonner as another reliable source for financial advice, trust services, charitable and foundation services, or estate settlement. By strengthening our Wealth Management Division, we’re not only investing in our clients’ well-being, but also in the continued growth and prosperity of the communities we call home.”
