CHRISTMAS BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting applications for Christmas dinner baskets, for Randolph County residents only, on the following dates/times: Monday, Dec. 1-Friday, Dec. 5, between the hours of 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Proof of your physical residency, ID, and all forms of income you receive is required. Applications must be filled out in the office and cannot leave the building. Applications do NOT guarantee you will be chosen to receive a dinner. Baskets will be given out Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. – Noon. Letters to recipients will be mailed out beginning Dec. 8. When and if you receive a letter, YOU MUST bring your LETTER, ENVELOPE and ID with you on pick-up day. Donations of canned goods, other non-perishable food items, and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Post and are greatly appreciated. For more information, call 304-636-3930.

HOLIDAY ARTIST MARKET: The Arts Center’s Holiday Artist Market will take place on December 5-6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Market brings together regional artists and makers for two festive days of handcrafted gifts, art, jewelry, pottery, textiles, woodworking, and more. Every purchase supports local artists and The Arts Center’s year-round community arts programs. Enjoy holiday treats, music, and the joy of finding one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list.

CHRISTMAS DINNER/DANCE: Knights of Columbus Council 603 will hold its annual Christmas Dinner-Dance at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at Orchard Hall. The meal will include hot Italian sausage in pepper sauce, rigatoni with sauce, ham, Italian bread, tossed salad with Italian dressing, cake, beer, wine and soda. A total of $2,500 in cash prizes will be given away, including five $100 prizes, two $500 prizes and one $1,000 prize. Music will be provided by Dan Dilettoso. No one under age 21 will be admitted. CRAFT SALE: Orlena Global Methodist Church will host a craft sale 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 6. There will be baked goods for sale and lunch can be purchased. The menu will feature soups, sandwiches, hot dogs and drinks.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW & BAZAAR: Elkins Christian Academy will host its annual Christmas Craft Show and Bazaar on Friday, Dec. 5 from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will benefit upcoming events and activities at the school, and will feature area crafters, bakers, artists, designers, homemade candles and homemade soap, a hot dog and bake sale, and much more. CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON & COOKIES: The annual Beverly Presbyterian Church Christmas Luncheon will be Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The homemade lunch, $10, includes soup, sandwich, drink, and dessert. Other items for sale will be delicious baked goods, jams, and popular homemade Christmas Cookie Trays. This event is part of the annual “Old Fashioned Beverly Christmas”. Come enjoy lunch and a day of fun activities.

CHURCH BAZAAR: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 302 First Street, Elkins, will host a bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be eat-in or carry-out of a large variety of soups, hot dogs, homemade chili, cinnamon rolls, nacho cheese and chips, cookie plates, baked goods, crafts, candies and a country store.

CRAFT SHOW: Davis & Elkins College’s Student Nursing annual Holiday Craft Show will be Dec. 6 at D&E College Memorial Gymnasium-Martin Field House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Craft Show will feature home decor, crafts, ironwork, home baked goods, gourmet chocolates, jams, apple butter, wood work, candy, jewelry, food, hot dog sale and much more. Free admission.

HOT DOG SALE: at the Whitmer Community Church, formerly Whitmer Methodist, will be Saturday, Dec. 6 from Noon to 5 p.m.. The event will be a benefit for the Church Youth Group. Hot dogs will be available individually, or as part of a meal, consisting of two hot dogs, macoroni salad and baked beans. For more information, call 304-227-4260.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW: featuring crafts and yard sale items will be Saturday, Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Grace Church, located across from the Federal Building in Elkins.

ELKINS PURPLE MAJESTIES: Elkins Purple Majesties (Red Hats) will meet Monday, Dec. 8, at 11:30 a.m. at the Steer Steakhouse for our annual Christmas luncheon. All members and guests are welcome.
