ELKINS — Valley Health Care is proud to announce that Randolph County Eye Care will be joining the organization, bringing both organizations together under one system to support and strengthen access to high-quality eye and vision care in Randolph and surrounding counties.

Randolph County Eye Care has served the region for many years, providing consistent, high- quality vision services long before Valley Health Care first introduced optometry to its service line. Their long-standing presence and commitment to patients of all ages has made them a trusted provider in the area. This step brings RCEC’s history of dependable, local vision care together with Valley Health Care’s mission to provide reliable, compassionate health care.

“Access to eye care in our region has long been a challenge. In Randolph County alone, thousands of residents face limited access to comprehensive eye and vision services, often traveling long distances or waiting months for appointments,” said Jordan Godwin, CEO of Valley Health Care.

“For many of our patients, vision issues are closely tied to chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, making timely, local access to care essential to their overall health.”

This represents a major step forward in strengthening Valley Health Care’s optometry service line and improving access to local, comprehensive vision care, officials said in a press release. Valley Health Care will expand from one optometry provider to four by March 2026, significantly increasing appointment availability and ensuring patients receive care close to home.

This will also enhance Valley Health Care’s Mill Creek site, where additional optometry services will be introduced as part of a broader effort to bring more specialty care to rural communities.

“With this growth, we will be able to serve hundreds of additional patients each month, reduce travel and wait times, and improve access to early detection and treatment of vision problems,” Godwin said. “We are confident this will strengthen our organization and make a lasting impact on the health and quality of life of our patients.”
