ELKINS — Valley Health Care is pleased to welcome Dr. Emily Whitlow, O.D. to its optometry team as part of the expansion of its optometry services.

Born and raised in Elkins, West Virginia, Dr. Whitlow completed her undergraduate education at West Virginia University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. She later moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and received her Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in 2019.

Following graduation, Dr. Whitlow practiced in Kentucky within an ophthalmology setting, with an emphasis on medically focused eye care. She is certified in expanded therapeutics, including YAG laser capsulotomy, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), and minor surgical procedures.

Dr. Whitlow enjoys being able to provide a full scope of care to all of her patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics and everything in between. Her clinical experience allows her to care for patients across all stages of life.

Dr. Whitlow recently returned to her hometown with her husband and two children. Valley Health Care is proud to welcome her back to the community and looks forward to the expertise and compassionate care she brings to patients throughout the region.
