BROWN BAG CONCERT: The Arts Center will be hosting a free Brown Bag Concert on Feb. 18 from noon to 1 p.m. The concert will feature the musical talents of Whistler’s Children, a recorder trio featuring Katy McClane on Soprano Recorder, Mary Smakula on Alto Recorder and Craig Stihler on Bass Recorder. This concert will feature Renaissance recorder music and more.
WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The Wednesday Pickin’ Country Music Jam Sessions are continuing to take place weekly at Armadillo Flats on Davis Avenue in Elkins. The jam sessions are co-sponsored by Augusta Heritage Center and C.J. Maggie’s. The Country Music Jams will now be from 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday. Players, singers and listeners are welcome. The Old-Time Music Jams which were previously held at Armadillo Flats, following the Country Jams, will resume at a later date, time and location to be announced. FISH FRY: Knights of Columbus Council 603 will hold its annual Fish Fry each Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 20 through March 27 in the St. Brendan Catholic Church parish hall. Meals will include a large piece of fish, French fries, coleslaw, bread, beverage and dessert. The cost will be $12 for an adult meal, $5 for children ages 5-12 and children under age 5 will eat for free. Eat-in or carry-out meals will be available. Proceeds will benefit Knights of Columbus projects and charities. The church is located off the Beverly Five-lane near the Glenmore community.
BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the Lodge Hall on the Beverly Five-Lane on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, sausage, bisquits and gravy, eggs, milk, coffee and orange juice. Carry-outs will be available.
BIBLE STUDY: The Tennerton United Methodist Church on Tallmansville Road in Buckhannon will be doing a Bible Study on “THE CHOSEN” starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22. The public is welcome to come and participate.
OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, dulcimer, bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. Contact dp-foot@hotmail.com.
