ELKINS — Employees and leadership at Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center know that it is always better to be prepared in the case of an emergency and that is why they recently met with emergency personnel in Elkins to discuss resident safety and preparedness.
“We take safety and security very seriously here at ERCC,” said Tara Shaver, Administrator. “We want to make sure we’re doing everything we can and that means talking to emergency personal about preparedness.”
Shaver went on to say that she along with others at ERCC met with Elkins Police Chief Travis Bennett, Sgt. Guy DeWeese and Trooper Shawn Miller with the West Virginia State Police and Randolph County Sheriff Rob Elbon to discuss emergency preparedness and safety.
“This is something we like to do from time to time here,” she added. “We want to make sure we have open communications with the first responders and that we’re staying up to date on emergency preparedness techniques.”
Shaver went on to say that the meeting was very productive and that she looks forward to speaking with the law enforcement officers again in the future.
“We really appreciate the officers for coming over and talking to us,” she added. “It’s always nice to hear from them about safety and preparedness.”
