Due to April 2 occurring the day before Good Friday, the next scheduled Elkins City Council meeting is Thursday, April 9. The following City Council meeting is rescheduled to Tuesday, April 21; at that meeting, the City will hold a vote to “lay the levy,” i.e., officially enact the FY 2027 budget.

The Personnel Committee is holding a special meeting on Tuesday, March 31, at 1 p.m. Items for discussion include the consideration of applicants for the HR generalist vacancy, as well as next steps on the City’s classification and compensation plan.

Save the Date: The Planning Commission and Elkins City Council is hosting a public meeting to discuss Elkins’ next Comprehensive Plan.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m., and the public is welcome to attend.

The City Hall building at 401 Davis Avenue has been closed for renovations since September 2024. Contractors are now working on a $4.1 million project to repair and prevent future damage from flooding; install modern HVAC systems; improve safety, accessibility, and security; and update and modernize workspaces.
