EDITOR’S NOTE: The Community Calendar is reserved for nonprofit, civic organizations. Unless otherwise noted, events listed should be considered free and open to the public. Entries appear in chronological order as space allows.
RANDOLPH COUNTY HOLY WEEK SERVICES: Randolph County Holy Week Services will be held through April 3 from noon-1 p,m, at Elkins Family Worship Center. Each day will feature a special guest speaker, special music, and a lunch prepared by various local churches.
WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The Wednesday Pickin’ Country Music Jam Sessions are continuing to take place weekly at Armadillo Flats on Davis Avenue in Elkins. The jam sessions are co-sponsored by Augusta Heritage Center and C.J. Maggie’s. The Country Music Jams will now be from 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday. Players, singers and listeners are welcome. The Old-Time Music Jams which were previously held at Armadillo Flats, following the Country Jams, will resume at a later date, time and location to be announced. EASTER EVENTS: Mt. Carmel Baptist will Church will host several Easter Events. On Thursday, April 2, they will host a Living Last Super/Tenebrae Service at 7 p.m. On Saturday, there will be an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. On Sunday, there will be a Sonrise Service at 7 a.m. and breakfast at 8 a.m., Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and the Easter Service will be at 11 a.m.
HOLY WEEK SERVICES: at Whitmer Community Church will include: Maundy/Thursday Communion Service, Thursday at 7 p.m.; Good Friday Kids Program, Friday at 7 p.m.; Sunrise Service, Sunday at 7 a.m.; and Easter Sunday Service, Sunday at 10 a.m.
CHILDREN’S EASTER PROGRAM: will be offered by Whitmer Community Church on Friday at 7 p.m.
EASTER EGG HUNT: Dryfork Recreation Center will host a Easter egg at noon on Saturday, April 4. There will be prizes,concessions and a bake sale.
EASTER EGG HUNT: Beverly Methodist Church, at 531 Main Street in Beverly, will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 4, starting at 12 p.m.
ELKINS EASTER EGG HUNT: will be Saturday, April 4 starting at 10 a.m. in Elkins City Park, for ages 1-10 years old. Sponsored by the Elkins Parks & Recreation Commission.
PHILIPPI EASTER EGG HUNT: will be offered by the Philippi Lions Club on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Little League Park in North Philippi.
EGG HUNT: Calvary Assembly of God in Valley Head on 219 will host an egg hunt on Sunday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
COMMUNITY EASTER EGG HUNT: will be Saturday, April 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 60 North Spring Street in Buckhannon. Sponsored by Freedom AG & Energy Cooperative.
BUCKWHEAT BREAKFAST: on Saturday, April 11 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Refuge Church in Gilman. And the menu will be buckwheat cakes, pancakes, Eggs, biscuits, and gravy.
OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, dulcimer, bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. Contact dp-foot@hotmail.com.
BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the Lodge Hall along the Beverly Five-lane on Saturday, April 18, from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, milk, coffee and orange juice. Carry-outs will be available.
PICKENS RAMP SUPPER: The annual Pickens Ramp Supper will be April 18 at the Pickens American Legion Hall in Pickens. Serving time is noon to 6 p.m. The menu includes ramps, ham, home fries, brown, beans, cole slaw, applesauce, corn bread, dessert and drinks. The dinner is sponsored by the Pickens American Legion Post 122. Everyone is welcome. Pproceeds are used to maintain and update our American Legion Hall. EARTH DAY/SPRING EXPO: The 2026 Earth Day/ Spring Expo event will be held at the Elkins City Park on Saturday, April 18. from noon to 3 p.m. The theme will be “Our Earth; Our Backyard.” Various informational booths and interactive activities will be available for all ages. There will be entertainment, food vendors and giveaways. The event is co-sponsored by the Tygart Valley Master Naturalist Chapter and Randolph-Tucker Master Gardeners.
