Harris retires from Citizens Bank of WV

ELKINS — Citizens Bank of West Virginia has announced that Leesa Harris, Senior Vice President & Trust Officer and Vice President & Secretary of Citizens Financial Corp., the Bank’s holding company, retired on March 31, after 43 years of dedicated service.

Harris began her career at Citizens in 1983 as Secretary & Switchboard Operator before transitioning into the role of Information & New Accounts Clerk. In 1984, she advanced to Executive Secretary, followed by Assistant Vice President & Human Resources Officer in 1998. She was named Vice President & Trust Officer in 2000 and achieved Senior Vice President status in 2002.

Her service to Citizens Financial Corp. began in 1987 as Assistant Secretary. She was named Secretary in 1994 and elevated to Vice President & Secretary in 2023.

Harris is a graduate of Elkins High School and attended Davis & Elkins College. She completed the West Virginia School of Banking in 1991. She is also a graduate of the Cannon Trust School and received the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation in 2001.

Harris currently serves as chairman of the board of the Elkins Housing Authority. She is an active member of the Elkins Rotary Club.

Harris resides in Montrose with her husband, Tim. She is the mother of two children, Mark Harris and Katie Shiflett, and grandmother to eight grandchildren.
