ELKINS – Davis & Elkins College President Chris A. Wood has announced the appointment of Kate Garlick as Vice President for Student Life. Garlick, who has served the College as Dean of Students since 2021, will take over Vice President for Student Life duties effective July 1.
Garlick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wheeling Jesuit University before obtaining a Master of Science in Services Management in Special Education from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. “I’m incredible grateful for the opportunity to serve as Vice President for Student Life at Davis & Elkins College,” Garlick said. “D&E has truly become a home for me, and serving this community is something I care deeply about. The work we do to support and engage our students matters most, and I’m lucky to do it alongside a fantastic group of dedicated colleagues who are deeply committed to this campus. I’m excited to continue investing in our students and helping create an experience where they feel supported, challenged, and connected. D&E is a special place, and I’m honored to be part of a community so fully invested in student growth and success.”
Prior to her service as Dean of Students, Garlick served the College as assistant dean of students and as Title IX & Section 504 coordinator. President Chris A. Wood said, “Kate Garlick is a committed professional who has demonstrated outstanding work for her eight years in the Office of Student Life at Davis & Elkins, including five years as Dean of Students. This promotion is well-deserved and ensures her continued service to our students. I am grateful to have her as a colleague in the leadership of this institution.”
