ELKINS — Mountain Valley Bank, N.A. has announced a donation pledge of $50,000 to the YMCA in support of its mission to strengthen our community through youth development, wellness programs and social responsibility.

This pledged will help expand YMCA programs that provide safe spaces for youth, promote wellness initiatives, and ensure access to vital resources for individuals and families throughout the seven-county region of central West Virginia.

“We are proud to support the YMCA and the incredible work it does every day,” President and CEO of Mountain Valley Bank, N.A. Doug Weese said. “This pledge reflects our commitment to the communities we serve by investing in programs that empower young people, promote health, and build stronger communities.”

The YMCA serves thousands of local residents each year through programs that include youth sports, childcare, swim safety, health and wellness programs, and community outreach efforts. Funding from community partners helps ensure these services remain accessible to people of all backgrounds and income levels.

“We are grateful for the generosity and partnership of Mountain Valley Bank,” said Sid Gilespy, YMCA Executive Director. “Support like this allows us to continue expanding opportunities for youth, families, and seniors in our community.”

This pledge will directly support the renovation of the women’s locker room, helping the YMCA continue its efforts to modernize its facilities and expand to create meaningful opportunities for personal growth and community connection.
