Elkins Purple Majesties Gather

Submitted photo The July meeting/luncheon of the Elkins Purple Majesties took place at the Knot Just Another Barn, which was decorated to celebrate an old-fashioned Independence Day. The tables featured red, white and blue tablecloths. The Red Hat ladies dressed in red, white and blue and had a short meeting, then sang Happy Birthday to the July birthday red-hatter, Charlotte Thomas. Food for this fun-filled afternoon was the typical picnic of hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, homemade potato salad and chips. Dessert was delicious homemade apple pie with ice cream. Raymond Godwin serenaded with patriotic songs while we ate and socialized. The ladies enjoyed playing bingo and won prizes. The afternoon was a perfect celebration thanks to Kim Ross and her elite cooks, and to Red Hat hostesses Charlotte Thomas and Gayle Zirkle. The August luncheon will be held at the China Cook Restaurant on Aug. 10 at 11:30 a.m. For reservations, please  call Carole at 304-614-0359. All fun-loving ladies over the age of 50 are cordially invited to attend.
