The GFWC Junior Woman's Club of Elkins and the Elks Lodge #1135 are co-sponsoring the fifth annual Winter Gala on Friday, Dec. 14 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Elks Country Club.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. with social hour being from 8 to 9 and dance from 9 to midnight. Officials will have a photographer available to take pictures during the evening. Everyone in attendance will get a free photo and then you will have the opportunity to purchase those through the photography shop.
This is a 21 and over only adult semi-formal to formal dance featuring Rick K. and the Allnighters from Morgantown. Rick K. and the Allnighters are Morgantown's and the entire Eastern Seaboard's premier musical entertainment group, officials said. They play a wide variety of music from the 70's, 80's, popular hits from the Motown Era, Big Band, Swing, Country Music and today's top 40 hits! They play events throughout the United States and also have recently completed an International tour! Rick K. and the Allnighters have played past Mountain State Forest Festival events and also were known for playing the Holly Ball. Rick K. and the Allnighters are excited to return to Elkins to perform. Their last performance in Elkins was the 2017 Winter Gala but before that it had been as long as 25 years ago.
All ID's will be checked at the door and only 200 tickets will be sold. There are still a few tables remaining for this years event. There will be a cash bar and heavy h'ordevours will be provided. This year tickets may be purchased either by check, cash, or debit/credit card via PayPal. If you use PayPal to purchase your tickets there is a $5 processing fee. Tickets are $40 couple by check/cash or $45 via PayPal or a table of 8 for $130 by check/cash or $135 via PayPal. All proceeds from this event will be split evenly between the Junior Woman's Club and the Elks Lodge and will go back out into the communities of Randolph County in the form of college scholarships for our graduating seniors and many more projects to numerous to list. The GFWC Junior Woman's Club of Elkins awarded $1,750 in college scholarships to 4 deserving young ladies from Elkins High School, Tygarts Valley High School, and Harman High School for the 2017/2018 school year and those were all paid out of the proceeds from the 2017 Winter Gala.
