BUCKHANNON -- A woman who tried to break into the home of her ex-boyfriend and allegedly physically attacked him was arrested at the scene Thursday.
Toni Michelle Bolar, 29, of Buckhannon, was arrested for nighttime burglary, a felony, by Patrolman Sam Kraemer with the Buckhannon Police Department.
Kraemer responded to Camden Avenue for a breaking and entering in progress in which a female had entered a residence that she did not reside at, according to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk's office.
Kraemer detained Bolar, who had blood covering her hands and waited for other officers to arrive to assist. After speaking with the victim, Kraemer learned that Bolar attempted to gain entry into the residence with the key she had from when she was in a relationship with the victim. The man tried to deny Bolar access to the residence by holding the door closed with his hands.
When Bolar refused to leave, the man then physically removed her from the porch but Bolar allegedly struck him in the groin with her knee and punched him in the chest multiple times.
The man then tried to retreat back to his residence but Bolar ran to the front door and attempted to enter again before he could get back inside.
When the man tried to remove Bolar again from the porch, she allegedly became physical again and the man was able to get inside his house and lock the door.
However, Bolar allegedly punched out the glass of the front door, reached her hand through the broken glass and unlocked the door gaining access to the residence.
Magistrate Kay Hurst set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and ordered Bolar to have no contact with the victim.
If convicted, Bolar faces confinement in the penitentiary for one to 15 years.
In a separate case, Reuben Benjamin Krum, 42, of Buckhannon, was arrested for domestic battery, third offense, a felony.
Cpl. T.A. Menendez with the Buckhannon detachment of the West Virginia State Police wrote in the criminal complaint that Krum was allegedly intoxicated and pushed his mother inside her residence causing her to fall and hit her head. The incident was witnessed by at least two other adults and two juveniles, according to Menendez. Krum, who resides at the same residence as his mother, has two prior domestic battery convictions from October 2014 and May 2010.
Hurst set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and ordered Krum to have no contact with the victim.
If convicted, Krum faces confinement in a state correctional facility for one to five years, and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
