CLARKSBURG-- An Elkins man recently admitted to being in possession of child pornography.
Jack Cark Rice, 56, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in a case presided over by U.S. Magistrate Judge John Aloi.
"Rice admitted to having images of child pornography depicting minors under the age of 12 in January 18 in Harrison County," states a press release from United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of West Virginia.
The release states that Rice is facing up to 20 years of incarceration in addition to a fine of up to $250,000, but the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and Rice's prior criminal history, if any, under the federal sentencing guidelines.
Parties who investigated the case include The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the West Virginia State Police and the Bridgeport Police Department, while Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Perri prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
