BEVERLY -- A Beverly man is in jail after law enforcement allegedly found methamphetamine, Xanax and what is believed to be the drug acid in his home.
Vincent Paul Gibson, 33, of Beverly, is being charged with felony possession with the intent to deliver. According to a criminal complaint filed in Randolph County Magistrate Court, on Saturday, West Virginia State Police Trooper R.C. Wilson received a call from West Virginia State Parole to do a home visit at Lot 10 Foundation Street in Beverly.
"State Parole states that the residence was occupied by a Vincent Gibson and they had received information that Mr. Gibson had a large amount of illegal drugs in his possession," it states in the complaint.
Wilson and other officers arrived at the residence and made contact with Gibson. According to the complaint at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Gibson was detained and members of State Parole began conducting a home check.
"Officer B. Thompson located a small plastic bag inside of the toilet located in the back part of the trailer that contained approximately 2 grams of a crystal like substance consistent with methamphetamine," the complaint states. "Also located in the bag was approximately 20 Xanax pills individually bagged."
Officers also located small pieces of tin foil on Gibson's person that contained a substance believed to be acid and $1,600. Officers also located a small plastic container containing several small clear bags commonly used in the packaging and distribution of illegal drugs, the complaint states.
If convicted, Gibson faces one to 15 years in prison or a fine of not more than $25,000, or both. Gibson is being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $15,000 surety/cash bond.
