ELKINS -- Elkins City Council is set to meet virtually on Thursday after technical difficulties forced the meeting to be postponed last week.
Council will consider a resolution approving several budget revisions including:
∫ Budget adjustment 26 involves the mayor's office moving $744 in salary and wages into line items for telephone, training and education, contracted services and supplies and materials.
∫ Budget revision 27 moves $525 from travel into contracted services in the city council budget.
∫ Budget revision 28 in the city clerk's budget moves $7,917 from contracted services to line items listed as salary and wages, FICA expense, group health insurance, retirement, overtime/extra help, dues and subscriptions, insurance and bonds and supplies and materials.
∫ Budget revision 29 moves $160 from insurance and bonds to group health insurance in the police department.
∫ Budget revision 30 moves $73,595 from salary and wages, group health insurance and insurance and bonds to overtime/extra help, advertising, supplies and materials, automobile supplies and computer software in the police department.
∫ Budget revision 31 moves $27,300 from maintenance of autos and trucks to line items for retirement, overtime/extra help, dues and subscriptions, supplies and materials and capital outlaw equipment in the Elkins Fire Department.
∫ Budget revision 32 moves $8,300 from contracted services to salary and wages; FICA expense, retirement, overtime/extra help, postage and insurance and bonds in the Treasurer's Department.
∫ Budget revision 33 moves $7,000 from supplies and materials to contracted services in the beautfication line item of the budget.
∫ Budget revision 34 moves $2,700 from line items advertising, training and education and refunds/reimbursements to retirement, overtime/extra help, postage and computer software in the Elkins Municipal Court budget.
∫ Budget revision 35 moves $9,300 from the capital outlay equipment line item in the City Hall budget to audit costs, supplies and materials and computer software.
Other items to be considered by Elkins City Council include:
∫ A budget revision resolution.
∫ A resolution to appoint former mayor Duke Talbott to the Elkins Planning Commission.
∫ A discussion on in-person city council and committee meetings.

The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Elkins City Clerk Jessica Sutton will read any submitted public comments. To submit public comment for the meeting email jsutton@cityofelkinswv.com for call 304-636-1414 ext. 1211. Those wishing to submit public comment must do so by 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
∫ The City of Elkins issued the following press release late Monday afternoon:
"Effective July 1, 2020, the Elkins Municipal Court's hours will change. Starting on that date, court will be in session on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 2 p.m.-4:30 pm.
"Also, for individuals wishing to contest traffic and/or parking citations, the judge will be available by appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, 3 p.m.-4 p.m.
