Youth Environmental Conference will be conducted Oct. 6-7
The 45th annual West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Youth Environmental Conference will be Oct. 6-7. This year’s theme is “Careers in Conservation.”
Due to COVID-19, the conference will be held virtually this year through the Facebook and YouTube channel and a live Zoom meeting. The conference is geared for ages 13-18 years old and is scheduled for Oct. 6 and 7. The conference will consist of a live Zoom meeting, which is scheduled for Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m., titled “Q & A with a Park Ranger.” In addition to the live video, there will be fun and informative pre-recorded videos which will be posted on https://dep.wv.gov/environmental-advocate/YEP/Pages/YouthEnvironmentalConference.aspx, Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/depwv/?ref=br–rs and YouTube channel, “Environment Matters” https://www.youtube.com/user/WVEnvironment. There will be special guests in these videos to discuss Smokey Bear, nature photography and careers in DNR law enforcement and the water industry, to mention a few. There also will be videos of awesome places to visit in West Virginia, which you won’t want to miss!
