One killed in two-vehicle wreck

HUTTONSVILLE — One person was killed in a Wednesday morning two-vehicle collision in Huttonsville, police said.

“A pickup truck heading south on 219 went left of center and struck a semi truck head-on,” Trooper Hunter Evans of the Elkins detachment of the West Virginia State Police told The Inter-Mountain Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the pickup was killed in the collision, Evans said, noting that there were no other injuries. He said authorities were not yet ready to release the name of the deceased or any other details.

The accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m., police said.

No charges have been filed in the incident, Evans said.

No further details, including the names of those involved, had been released by authorities as of presstime.

The Randolph County 911 Communications Office said the accident took place on Rt. 219 and 250 near Huttonsville Correctional Center, according to published reports.
