BUCKHANNON -- A Buckhannon man who allegedly struck his girlfriend with a porcelain plate and her adult son with a porcelain bowl was arrested for two felony accounts of domestic battery third offense.
On Oct. 1, James Michael Williams, 47, allegedly forcibly pushed his girlfriend up against a wall by her throat using his hand which was witnessed by the girlfriend's adult son, according to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk's office.
When the adult son attempted to intervene, Williams allegedly shoved him to the ground. Williams then struck the girlfriend with the plate which broke and struck the adult son on the leg with a square bowl that broke.
When the son called 911, Williams fled the residence. The adult son suffered a bruise and small cut to his lower left leg. The girlfriend left the residence in a separate vehicle with unknown injuries, according to investigating officer Sgt. Darin Hissam with the Buckhannon Police Department.
Williams previously pled no contest to domestic battery second offense on Feb. 7, 2012.
Magistrate Mike Coffman set bond at $40,000 cash or surety.
If convicted, Williams faces confinement of one to five years and/or the court may impose a fine of $1,000 to $5,000 on each count.
