ELKINS -- No injuries were reported, and no charges were filed, in an accident in which a vehicle left the roadway, hit an embankment and flipped onto its top.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle accident located on Rt. 33 near the Economy Inn in Elkins on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 2 p.m., a Ford Focus driven by Deandre Owens of Elkins traveled off the right side of the roadway onto an embankment, which caused the car to flip on its top, police said.

Owens had left the scene of the accident originally but returned upon Cpl. D.D. Pennington's arrival, authorities said. No injuries were reported as Randolph County EMS and the Elkins Fire Department assisted at the scene of the accident.
