‘Pickers’ may return to Elkins
ELKINS — The popular television show “American Pickers” is planning a return trip to West Virginia, and another visit to Elkins is a distinct possibility, officials said.
Whether or not the familiar faces of the History Channel’s hit show make it back to Elkins, as they did in May 2017, or another location in Randolph County or surrounding counties will be determined by the public, officials said.
The show is currently looking for leads and getting the word out that it is returning to the state. Show officials are hoping to find that interesting local person who has a lot of unusual items stored.
“We are looking to film in West Virginia around April,” “American Pickers” producer Sarah Perkins said. “So we’re hoping to start talking with people that want to be featured as soon as possible. We are looking for different, unusual and unique items — something we’ve never seen before and with an interesting story.”
To reach out and let the Pickers know that you or someone else is the person they’re looking for, call 1-855-OLD-RUST (653-7878), or email to AmericanPickers@cineflix.com. When you call or email please share your name, city and state, contact information, and a brief description of the collection to be featured.
“The way we find people and collections for our show is through spreading the word far and wide so that people know we’re coming to town,” Perkins said. “We are excited to continue to reach the many collectors in the area to discuss their years of picking.”
Back in the spring of 2017, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, the show’s two main personalities, made a visit to the home of Ronald and Linda Miller of Elkins on the corner of Wilson Street and Worth Avenue in Elkins. Their property was “picked” by the duo and the show debuted on the History Channel later that fall in October.
The reality show is in its 22nd season and new episodes can be seen at 9 p.m. on Mondays.
