ELKINS -- The Elkins-Randolph County Public Library will reopen to full capacity on Thursday, officials announced.
"Many upgrades have been made during the year that we have been closed," Stephanie Murphy, executive director of the library, said Tuesday. "We anticipate a grand re-opening celebration in the near future!"
Starting Thursday, the library will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
"We will continue to expand hours and remain open as long as the COVID-19 numbers in Randolph County are represented by the color green," Murphy said.
At the library, "everyone will be required to wear a mask, proper cleaning measures will be adhered to, and social distancing is required," she added.

Earlier this month the library opened for limited computer use.
The library had been closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and during the closure the facility endured damage to the building brought on by some flooding, a small fire, and some electrical issues within the lighting system.
"We had to gut the entire bottom floor of the library and start over," Murphy said earlier this month. "We lost everything in our kitchen and then we had to rewire and redo every light in the building. A lot of bad things happened but we've been working hard to get everything fixed and making things better than they were before."
Repairs have been completed, and Murphy said changes have been made to some of the sections of the library to more appropriately meet the needs of the community. Some of those changes include an improved, more adult, easier-to-use meeting room space, and a larger interactive children's area.
