CHAMPION, Pa. — Seven Springs Mountain Resort doesn’t board up its doors and turn out the lights for the summer just because there’ll be no snow until next winter.

The resort, located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, does the exact opposite as it transforms into a summertime playground.

“We are excited for another season of outdoor adventure at Seven Springs,” said Alex Moser, director of Marketing and Communications for the resort. “We are grateful that people have a renewed interest in exploring the great outdoors. Our 5,500 acres full of adventure make it the perfect place to recreate.”

Seven Springs offers a host of summer activities for the entire family, including the ever-popular Screaming Hawk Zipline and the Alpine Slide.

The Screaming Hawk features nearly 2,000 feet of ziplines and with four zips, a sky bridge and auto belay. The Alpine Slide, meanwhile, features 1,980 feet of downhill thrills on a two-wheeled sled equipped with a handlebrake for speed control.

If zipping and sliding is not your cup of tea, some of the other activities the resorts has to offer include golfing, swimming, fishing, sporting clays, all terrain segway tours, disc golf, rockwall climbing, chairlift rides and trampolining. Outdoors enthusiasts can cruise around the lake on hydrokies, paddleboats and paddleboards.

The resort also offers miles and miles of some of the best hiking and mountain biking trails on the East Coast. And there is no better way to cool off after a long day of outdoor activities than spending some time at the Bavarian Beach Pool, which is a large lagoon-like heated pool with lush landscaping and a wading area.

“We have added the increasingly popular Axe Throwing to our summer adventures this year,” said Moser. “Our guests will love hanging by the Foggy Goggle for a concert and throwing a few axes.”

Summer events will be returning to Seven Springs Resort this summer as well with a full calendar of events already planned.

“We are super excited about the return of Summer Festivals,” said Moser. “We will be hosting a huge July 4th Fireworks Show, Rib and Wing Festival (July 30-31, August 1), Kids Mud on the Mountain (August 14), Mutts on the Mountain (August 15), and Adult Mud on the Mountain (September 4).”
