Summer Concert Series continues
ELKINS — Week 2 of the Summer Concert Series at the Rotary Amphitheater in Elkins Town Square will feature a local act Cross Town Traffic taking the stage at 6 p.m.
Cross Town Traffic, whose members hail from the hills of Randolph and Tucker counties, will bring their love of great classic and southern rock music to the downtown stage for the free concert.
Cross Town Traffic consists of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Tim White, rhythm guitarist Scott Betler, bassists Richie Shyrock, drummer Chris Newsom, lead guitarists J.B. Stalnaker and sax/percussionist Rob Masten.
The summer concert series kicked off last week with the Hillbilly Gypsies and like every week going forward, the concert ran simultaneously with the weekly classic car and hot rod Cruise-In.
Our Town Inc. volunteer Doug Starcher said there’s no better way to spend a Thursday evening than to come out and check out some of the area’s most unique cars and then hear some great live music on the downtown stage. Our Town Inc. has organized and is hosting the Concert Series this summer
“Every week you see some amazing cars at the Cruise-In,” said Starcher. “And we have some really good bands coming in every week as well.”
There are just two more shows before the big Fourth of July Celebration, which will take place July 2 through July 4.
The weekend will kick off with a Cruise-In on Friday night, before Saturday’s long list of events that include the Annual Car Show, a concert by Rick K and the Allnighters and a fireworks display.
The Car Show will run through Sunday afternoon and many cash prizes will be awarded.
The remaining shows on the summer concert schedule include:
June 10 — The Company Stores
June 24 — Chance McCoy and Justin Golden
July 3 — Rick K and the All-Nighters
