Local emergency crews responded to rescue Ronald Lee Corder of Chenowth Creek after he drove a Toyota Avalon into the Tygart Valley River along Baron Avenue near the rear entrance to McDonald’s in Elkins Thursday afternoon. Corder was not injured in the incident. Randolph County Sheriff Rob Elbon climbs the bank after surveying the crash scene.

Elkins Truck Service pulls the vehicle from the muddy water. The Elkins Fire Department, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Elkins City Police and the Randolph County Emergency Squad responded to the scene.
