Arts Center’s Artists Market set for weekend

ELKINS — The 17th annual Holiday Artists Market will be offered at The Arts Center this weekend.

The Arts Center will once again ring in the holidays with its Great Hall filled with original art works, Christmas ornaments, crafts, and hundreds of other gifts for sale at its 17th annual Holiday Artists Market.

The Artists Market will be open Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Arts Center will be filled with pottery, handmade crafts, fabric art, paintings, baskets, jewelry and holiday cheer, officials said.

“We really enjoy this time of year at The Arts Center, and the Artists Market gives us a chance to open our doors to the community and offer everyone the chance to do at least a portion of their Christmas shopping from the work of our artist members,” Arts Center Executive Director Kurt Barkley said.

“The Artists Market gives us the opportunity to showcase this fine work. With the number of artists participating this year, it’s going to be an especially good selection of gifts and maybe even some things for yourself.”

Members of The Arts Center will bring their wares to the Great Hall and set up shop for the two-day event.

“Everyone has a great time, the artists as well as the shoppers. We have shopping, music and snacks. There’s no other shopping experience like this,” Barkley said. “It’s another wonderful way to experience a revitalized downtown Elkins and some of the other new things the city has to offer.”

The Arts Center is located on the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street, the former St. Brendan’s Catholic Church. Plenty of free parking is available, officials said.

The Randolph County Community Arts center is committed to the accommodation of all persons with disabilities. Specially-designated parking spaces are conveniently located behind the office, facing Elkins City Park. For more information or to inquire about accessibility options, please call 304-637-2355.
