Nine-year old Valentina Auguilar was recognized by Elkins Mayor Jerry Marco at City Hall Thursday. Auguilar will travel to Rochester, New York on Sept. 18 to compete in the Regional Drive, Chip and Putt competition at Oak Hill Country Club. A victory in the regionals would send her to the national event at Augusta National Golf Club next April during the Masters Tournament. Marco presented her with a certificate, a City of Elkins Bag, a personalized golf ball, and an FBI seal ball marker (Marco previously worked for the FBI).
