ELKINS – Local law enforcement officials responded to an incident involving a man with a gun at Bridgewater Estates this morning.
At approximately 10 a.m., 911 operators received a call about a man walking the streets of the South Elkins neighborhood, possibly carrying an AR-15 assault rifle. Within minutes of the call, multiple local law enforcement agencies were on the scene.
Jenning Randolph Elementary, which is in close proximity to Bridgewater, was put on lockdown as a result of the incident.
Responding were the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, the Elkins Police Department, the West Virginia State Police and Randolph County EMS.
