ELKINS -- T. Richard Harvey, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Mountain Valley Bank, N.A. has announced that Douglas K. Weese will be his successor as President and CEO of Mountain Valley Bank, N.A.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Doug Weese as our new President & CEO. Doug has a vast array of banking knowledge gained from his experience both in the industry and as a regulator," Harvey said.

"As a Randolph County native, Doug is also committed to providing quality financial products and services to the communities we serve. Our Board of Directors is confident that Doug will continue to enhance the growth, profitability and success of Mountain Valley Bank."

Weese initially joined Mountain Valley Bank in 1997 as Controller and Holding Company Treasurer, positions he held until 2000. His next 22 years were spent in federal bank supervision with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

While with the OCC, Weese received his commission as a National Bank Examiner in 2005 and was cross credentialed as a Federal Thrift Regulator in 2015. Weese served six years in the OCC's Charleston, WV Field Office within Community Bank Supervision.

In 2006, he was assigned to the OCC's Large Bank Supervision division in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he served as Team Leader for Capital Markets and Asset Management from 2016 to 2022.

"I am very excited to return to Mountain Valley Bank and have the opportunity to lead such a dedicated and talented group of employees," Weese said. "We will continue to build on the many successes of our organization, while taking full advantage of future opportunities."

Weese graduated summa cum laude from Davis & Elkins College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and management.

He began his professional career in public accounting and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1995. Weese is a member of both the West Virginia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.

Weese is the son of Donna and Kenny Weese of Beverly. He resides in Elkins with his wife, Rhea. They have two sons, Jonathan (and wife Callie) of Tampa, Florida, and Nathan of Little Elm, Texas. Doug and Rhea enjoy spending time with family and staying active in outdoor activities.

"My wife and I returned to Elkins in late August having relocated from Washington, Pennsylvania," Weese said. "Since that time Mr. Harvey and I have been working closely to ensure a successful and seamless transition upon his retirement.

"During that time, I have had the opportunity to meet many of our customers, while getting to know much of our staff personally. I am very impressed with the caliber and professionalism of our employees as well as our customers," Weese said.
